Knowing the right facts about eating disorders is the first step to recovery. Getting them from the right person is what Therapeutic Nutrition LLC is all about…
Experience Counts: Flavia Herzog Liebel, primary dietitian, and owner, for Therapeutic Nutrition LLC, has:
More than 25 years of experience in treating clients (all genders) with eating disorders throughout their lifespan.
Knowledge and training to work with all types of eating disorders (ex. anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, orthorexia, and avoidant/restrictive intake disorder) in various stages of outpatient recovery.
What to expect
What to expect when you/your loved one is on the road towards recovery:
Step 1: First Appointment
The first appointment takes about an hour. It is a thorough evaluation to help the dietitian identify a client’s unhealthy behaviors, to assess their medical status and to establish short term and long term goals with the client
Step 2: Follow-up Appointments
Follow-up appointments, which are 30 minutes and typically occur on a weekly basis, focus on stabilizing the weight, minimizing the fear of eating, improving body image & self-esteem and developing healthful, intuitive eating behaviors.
Step 3: A Team Approach
Your dietitian collaborates closely with the other members of your treatment team, which typically comprises a therapist, psychiatrist, and medical doctor.
Step 4: Optional Family Sessions
Therapeutic Nutrition LLC promotes a supportive environment within the family unit and includes family in sessions when appropriate.
“Flavia’s combination of expert knowledge, warmth, humor, and compassion has been a tremendous resource for many of our clients who are in the process of recovering from an eating disorder.”
