This 4-module course is the second of a two-part series on Nutritional Treatment and Counseling for Eating Disorders
This CE course will examine the treatment of eating disorders, focusing on nutrition counseling as provided by a Registered Dietitian. It incorporates guest lectures from multiple disciplines and provides opportunities to learn about and practice counseling techniques in simulated scenarios.
Course Learning Goals
Learners will be able to:
Identify specific body language patterns and vocal cues during counseling sessions and evaluate when these signals warrant further investigation.
Apply counseling techniques to simulated eating disorder patient scenarios.
Discuss how eating disorders can present in overlooked populations.
Analyze practice for elements of trauma-informed care.
Identify medical complications associated with eating disorders and illnesses that impact eating disorder recovery
